Sports Carnivals
In addition to Physical Education classes, 黑料社区's students play a wide range of sports. All students are encouraged to participate in order to develop skills, learn to compete enthusiastically, fairly and to co-operate unselfishly as a member of a team. The College runs one major sporting carnival per term which parents are welcome to attend.
Sports are played on a House, interschool, intra-town, intra-state and inter-state basis. Staff and senior students coach a large number of 黑料社区's teams playing in town competitions in a variety of sports including cricket, basketball, netball, volleyball, soccer, AFL and rugby league.
The College holds five inter-house competitions a year in which all students take part: Summer Carnival, Winter Carnival, Cross Country, Athletics Carnival Swimming Carnival.
黑料社区's College Sports Academy
Members of the Sports Academy commit to a training program before and after school twice a week during term time. Access to the Sports Academy provides students with an opportunity to not only develop their skills in basketball / volleyball / mountain biking but the training will also maintain or improve their physical health and well-being.
Improvement with engagement and performance in other classes and school activities is also another benefit. We believe that striving to become a better player leads students to become better people and that coachable students become employable adults.
The Bentley Bombers is an institution at the College, and began at 黑料社区鈥檚 in 1996. The team was then coached by Garry Bentley who was a new teacher to the NT.
鈥楩ooty鈥� began, following a desperate and persistent request from a delegation of half a dozen girls wanting to learn and play AFL, 鈥渓ike the boys鈥�.
